Macassar ebony wood adorns the headphone shells, extending an invitation to connect with the feeling of warmth that only Mother Nature can provide. Blending form with function, the ear cushions have been redesigned for effortless maintenance, now adopting a magnetic removable design.

QWRM

The Quarter Wavelength Resonator Mask is a precision metal component that strategically covers certain openings within the diaphragm to effectively attenuate high-frequency peaks above 7kHz, providing a less tiring listening experience.

A FEELING OF WARMTH

Coming from a tradition of craftsmanship in Maramures, Meze decided to keep the design language of the first generation of LIRIC, but warm it up with the introduction of wood. This journey they embarked on led them to discover the most suitable option in Macassar ebony - a hard, heavy, dense, aesthetically pleasing wood, known for its rich, dark brown color, punctuated by complex golden-brown stripes.

In the spirit of natural evolution, LIRIC joins the Meze Audio family of products with removable magnetic ear cushions. This design choice ultimately translates into increased reliability and maintainability, features that audiophiles and music enthusiasts around the world have come to expect.

QUALITY IN EVERY ASPECT

Meze's premium hand-braided copper cable now serves as the standard cable for the LIRIC. The brand has focused its efforts on improving the listening experience, offering a premium cable with a 4.4mm termination, suitable for most portable headphone amplifiers, as well as a 3m soft TPE cable with a 3.5mm plug, ideal for home headphone setups.

PRESSURE EQUALIZATION SYSTEM

To allow for optimal pressure in the headphone cavity and better airflow control, the finely tuned Meze pressure equalization system is present on the LIRIC. It has also been improved to achieve a smoother transition from the low frequency region to the lower midrange.

ROBUST CONSTRUCTION, EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE

To the already optimal mix of materials, striped ebony wood was added, consolidating LIRIC's role in the world as a refined work of art in terms of material choice alone. Gradual development was the key to achieving this formidable fusion of leather, wood and metal. Staying true to their "no compromise" mentality, this new construction is equally flexible and resistant to shocks, wear and oxidation.

OVER THIRTY YEARS OF AUDIO INNOVATION

Rinaro Isodynamics was founded in Ukraine to research acoustic technology and has been innovating in the field of planar magnetics for over 30 years. The company has expanded with new R&D and manufacturing facilities in Ukraine and Poland, which were instrumental in the development of the Isodynamic Hybrid Array technology used in the Empyrean, Elite and Liric headphones.

LIRIC features Rinaro's latest technology, redesigned for everyday use. The MZ4 Isodynamic Hybrid Array driver has been purposefully resized and tuned to deliver an audio experience similar to its larger counterparts found in the Empyrean II and Elite.

Combined with the closed design, it helps preserve the original clarity and emotion of your favorite music through improved sound and minimized external noise. Each driver is fully assembled and tested by hand in Rinaro's industrial facility in Ukraine.

Weighing only 0.08g with a large active area of ​​3507mm2.

[MZ4] HYBRID MAGNET ARRAY

Symmetrically placed on both sides of the diaphragm, the neodymium magnets are arranged in a Hybrid Array to create an isodynamic magnetic field of 0.3 Tesla, necessary for uniform activation across the entire surface of the diaphragm.

DRIVER MZ4 ISODYNAMIC HYBRID ARRAY

Created exclusively for Meze Audio, the MZ4 driver has already been successfully implemented in the first generation of LIRIC. Over 30 years of research and development have contributed to the development of this technology, resulting in one of the lightest and most advanced planar magnetic drivers on the market.

An innovation brought to the MZ4 driver, developed in-house by Rinaro, is the Phase-X™ system, which improves the ambience and spatial imaging of sound, problems often encountered in closed headphone designs.

ULTRA LOW DISTORTION - Total harmonic distortion (THD) measures below 0.15% across the entire frequency range.

ADVANTAGES OF A DUAL DRIVER SYSTEM

The MZ4 driver combines individual serpentine and spiral voice coils within the same diaphragm, allowing sound to be directed more precisely around the natural shape of the ear for more selective acoustic performance. Using this combination allows the headphones to achieve increased exposure of direct sound wave frequencies above the 10kHz range, as well as improved imaging and localization by reducing the impact of short-wave time delays caused by diffuse field reflections.

SERPENTINE-SHAPED VOICE COIL The serpentine-shaped voice coil is more efficient in reproducing low frequencies and is positioned at the top of the driver.

SPIRAL COIL The spiral coil is more efficient at reproducing mid-high frequencies and is positioned directly above the ear canal, allowing direct sound waves to enter the ear without time delays.

ISOPLANAR MEMBRANE MATERIAL The membrane is made from a custom developed thermally stabilized isotropic polymer with a conductive layer. Through unique processing methods, an ultra-lightweight yet rigid membrane has been achieved.

Phase-X™, CAPTIVATING SPATIAL SOUND IMAGING

An innovation brought to the MZ4 driver is the Phase-X™ system created by Rinaro as a way to minimize the phase distortion issues typically found in closed headphone designs. This patent-pending technology helps deliver immersive spatial sound imaging.

The Phase-X™ system improves spatial imaging accuracy, consistent with its open-back counterparts, and is particularly noticeable in binaural recordings.
