Recovering completely discharged "dead" batteries
Unlike other brands, the Blue Smart IP65 charger will attempt to recharge a fully discharged battery by force-feeding it a low current. Normal charging will then resume as soon as there is sufficient voltage across the battery terminals.

Connect the battery gently
The charger comes with alligator clips and M8 eyelets - making it easy to connect to the battery. If you want, you can leave it permanently connected.

Check battery status remotely
The Blue Smart IP65 is equipped with built-in Bluetooth, so the status of the charger and battery can be checked on a smartphone, tablet or laptop. All charger settings can be configured with the VictronConnect app.

Storage mode: reduced corrosion of positive plates

Even the lowest standby charging voltage following the absorption period will cause grid corrosion. As such, it is essential to reduce the charging voltage even further when the battery remains connected to the charger for more than 48 hours.

Temperature compensated charging

The optimum charging voltage for lead-acid batteries is inversely proportional to the temperature. The Blue Smart IP65 rectifier/charger measures the ambient temperature during the test phase and compensates for the temperatures during the charging process. The temperature is measured again when the rectifier is in low current mode during standby or storage mode. Therefore, no special adjustments are required for a cold or warm ambient environment.

Li-ion battery mode

The Blue Smart IP65 rectifier uses a charging algorithm specific to Li-ion (LiFePO4) batteries, with automatic Li-ion reset protection at improper voltages.
