Love at First Touch

No detail is left to chance in creating a multi-sensory experience. With LIRIC, each texture has been carefully selected to complement the other, offering a tactile spectacle from the first contact. Referencing the textures found on the magnesium parts of professional cameras, the headphones maintain the same delicacy to the touch, while demonstrating amazing resistance.

Award-Winning Technology

LIRIC features cutting-edge technologies developed by Rinaro. The MZ4 Isodynamic Hybrid driver set has been miniaturized and tuned to deliver an audio experience similar to the speakers found on the Empyrean and Elite.

MZ4 Isodynamic

LIRIC is the first closed-back headphone powered by the Rinaro Isodynamic Hybrid Array driver. An innovation of the MZ4 driver developed by Rinaro in the Phase-X™ system, which improves the ambience and image of the sound, often a problem in closed-back headphone designs.

Dual System

The MZ4 driver combines individual spiral and switchback voice coils in the same diaphragm, allowing sound to be more precisely shaped around the natural shape of the ear for selective acoustic performance.

Hybrid Magnet Set

Symmetrically placed on each side of the diaphragm, the neodymium magnets are arranged in a manner called Hybrid Array to create a 0.3 Tesla Isodynamic magnetic field required for uniform activation across the entire surface of the diaphragm.

High Frequency Efficiency

At frequencies above 10kHz, where the wavelengths are shorter than the inner cavity of the pads, the sound field becomes diffuse with a quantity of direct and reflected sound waves in the ear canal. A significant increase in direct sound waves was achieved by positioning the most effective part of the diaphragm in the mid-high frequencies directly over the ear canal, resulting in improved 3D imaging and spatial localization.

Pressure Equalization System

A precisely tuned vent can make a huge difference to how you perceive the surrounding sound, which is why Meze learned and adapted designs from previous experiences and decided to add their own pressure equalization system to the LIRIC headphone cups. The result: better controlled airflow, improved pressure, and airy, transparent, detailed sound that will immerse you in a whole new world of music.

Product information:

"In folklore, lyricism is found in the smallest details, from odes to poems, from flute songs to doines. The first closed isodynamic headphones were born from Meze's love for music, poetry and the indisputable attachment to the culture of the country. Meze had wanted to produce a portable planar headphone for some time, and following two successful collaborations with Rinaro, this was the natural next step. Calling them LIRIC was no accident. It was an ideal metaphor to paint the authentic, vivid and poetic sound, masked by the ethereal silhouette." - Antonio Meze, Lead Designer and Founder of Meze Audio

The company wanted to express the essence of what Meze Audio is all about - cutting-edge technologies embodied in an artistic, almost sculptural way. Different from everything they have produced so far, LIRIC retains the same characteristic design language, with new additions in terms of materials and ergonomic approach. Designed for high-fidelity listening, LIRIC offers high build quality and excellent comfort, and an immersive, lively listening experience.

Collaboration MEZE X RINARO

Time flies when you're having fun! Together with Rinaro Isodynamics, Meze has added a third model thanks to this collaboration. LIRIC was a real challenge for both companies: how to produce a pair of closed-back planar headphones that will change all standards in the audiophile world. The fusion of Meze's industrial design with Rinaro's technological development, LIRIC brings a new nuance to all active audiophiles who want to listen to music on the move.

Audio Tables

For the past 10 years, Meze Audio has been developing audiophile headphones recognized for their timeless design, pure comfort and vibrant sound. From appearance to technology, Meze products are designed to transcend all short-lived trends and become a legacy, not just a simple pair of headphones. Today, founder Antonio Meze and his skilled team design and develop their products in Baia Mare, Romania, in the spirit of the original vision of "no compromise".

Rinaro Isodynamics

Rinaro originated in the USSR (now Ukraine) during the Cold War as part of a state-funded acoustic technology research program. With government support and access to advanced testing facilities, the team was able to focus on the planar magnetic principle. An area in which they have continued to innovate for the past 30 years, since the collapse of the USSR. In the past decade, Rinaro has expanded its R&D and manufacturing operations in Ukraine and Poland.

Award-winning technology in a portable chassis

LIRIC features cutting-edge technologies developed by Rinaro, reimagined for everyday use. The MZ4 Isodynamic Hybrid driver set has been miniaturized and tuned to deliver an audio experience similar to the speakers found on Empyrean and Elite.

Along with the closed design, it helps preserve the original clarity and emotion of your favorite music through improved sound and minimized external noise. Each driver is hand-assembled and tested in the Rinaro industrial factory in Ukraine.

Advantages of a dual system

The MZ4 driver combines individual spiral and switchback voice coils in the same diaphragm, allowing sound to be more precisely shaped around the natural shape of the ear for selective acoustic performance. Using this combination, the headphones achieve improved exposure of direct wave frequencies in the range above 10kHz, as well as improved imaging and localization by reducing the impact of short wave delay time caused by diffuse reflections.

Switchback coil

The switchback coil is more efficient in reproducing low frequencies and is positioned at the top of the driver.

Spiral coil

The spiral coil is more effective at reproducing mid-high frequencies and is positioned directly over the ear canal, allowing a greater amount of direct waves to enter the ear without delay.

Isoplanar diaphragm material

The diaphragm is produced from a thermally stabilized isotropic polymer with a conductive layer. Through unique processing methods, a very light yet rigid diaphragm has been achieved.

Increased efficiency at high frequencies

At frequencies above 10kHz, where the wavelengths are shorter than the inner cavity of the pads, the sound field becomes diffuse with a quantity of direct and reflected sound waves in the ear canal. A significant increase in direct sound waves was achieved by positioning the most effective part of the diaphragm in the mid-high frequencies directly over the ear canal, resulting in improved 3D imaging and spatial localization.

Phase-X™. A revolution in sound imaging

An innovation of the MZ4 driver is the Phase-X™ system created by Rinaro as a way to minimize the phase distortion issues typically found in closed headphones. This patent-pending technology helps deliver an immersive audio image.

The Phase-X™ system improves spatial imaging accuracy, in line with open designs, particularly highlighted in binaural recordings.

Original source recording

Absolute linear phase gives the listener the original spatial image as it was recorded. This includes information from the musical instruments as well as the recording medium.

Non-linear phasing

Phase distortions, typically found on conventional closed headphones, particularly affect the reproduction of the spatial image of the original recording.

Phase-X™ System

With the addition of the Phase-X™ system, LIRIC achieves accurate phase response and faster transient response decay. This allows for more faithful reproduction of transient sound and improves the ambience and spatial image for the listener, bringing them closer to the original recording environment.

An audiophile experience

Combining quality materials with an ergonomic design approach and a sleek, modern finish, LIRIC are made for audiophiles who want to enjoy their passion at home or on the go.

Lightweight magnesium frame

A lightweight magnesium skeleton ensures that the headphones remain flexible, shock-resistant, and protected from oxidation, while maintaining an ideal fit for long listening sessions.

Optimal airflow control

The headband cushions are placed in a "+" shape to allow proper airflow and reduce heat and moisture buildup. Covered in genuine leather, the headband is perfectly adjusted for optimal pressure distribution - it follows the structure of the head, producing a firm and even contact.

Like all Meze Audio headphones, the LIRIC are easily adjustable for a solid, comfortable feel that fits most shapes.

Ergonomic ovoid shape

Choosing an ovoid cup shape was the best for covering the ears without adding unnecessary pressure or weight, while also providing deeper sound and improved passive isolation.
